'A Dream of The Past'
Each of these eleven scenes capture a moment in history. From the fall of the Roman Empire to the turn of the 19th century, the common themes of love, lust and greed have been embodied in operatic material, creating a thread which continues to connect us to our own humanity. Our relationship with the past is difficult - existing in a tension between what we know and what we can imagine. This journey through time gives vision to both the stories being told in opera and the context they were written in.
